Welcome! Thank you for visiting our website.
The Gathering Place began as an idea and a hope—first by a few people, and now it has spread to hundreds of staff, caregivers, and students. That was always the goal of TGP: to create a school where the most meaningful and impactful work in service to kids could be done and cast a vision of the possible.
The path to creating the strongest version of TGP is paved with struggles and heartache and so many learnings. From these experiences emerges a TGP that is poised to do our very best work yet at this moment. The journey and process has led us here.
TGP is a safe space for all and represents the idea that anything is possible. Many in our community are not safe to learn, speak, and be in our city, our state, and this world. TGP strives every day to ensure that every voice and expression is accepted and appreciated. When people ask me about our school, I first speak about our heart and care for each member of our community. I am most proud of the way we embrace everyone, regardless of their background.
TGP has been built to celebrate and honor the inner brilliance of every child. We are not there yet, but we know that valuing the perspectives and thoughts of each member of our community is a critical step in helping us bring our mission to life.
